Cityscape Prayer Ministries was born out of the Vancouver House of Prayer in October of 2003 as the Lord showed us how important it was to gather prayer leaders from many churches to encourage and support each other.
Our heart was to “hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church” and to pray with this direction. We spent the first 3 years focusing primarily on the Vancouver region, with monthly meetings that drew the prayer leaders from 30 congregation to discern together what God was saying to Vancouver and pray in agreement.
We found great joy in building these relationships and soon began to fervently pray for each other’s churches to breakthrough in new ways. Many evenings were spent praying for the pastors of our region and for their blessing and unity. As we prayed and listened to the Lord we began to send out a semi-monthly bulletin to communicate the prayer direction we were hearing for the city to hundreds of local intercessors.
We soon began to travel to meet with other intercessors in various cities of Canada, seeking to encourage them and asking the Vancouver intercessors to pray for various cities as they also sought to build city teams. We also began to train and mentor intercessors that wanted to grow and hundreds joined our mentoring tracks.
But in January of 2006 the Lord clearly spoke that it was time to launch out in a greater way and that the ministry was to shift into a national mandate.
Since that time, we have dramatically grown from a small part-time local ministry to a national ministry with a clear call to awaken a movement of intercession across Canada. The Lord has so blessed the small beginnings that we are now are humbled to see intercessors raised up and connected with the prophetic sounds of the nation, filled with faith and fire and running together into the ministry of intercession from every province of Canada. We recognise that Cityscape plays a part of the overall prayer strategy of the nation and there are numerous other ministries that God is powerfully using. We delight to work together and honour each part.
Our vision continues to grow and with it, many more opportunities for those with a similar heart to join our team.

In addition to our leadership team, we have a national mentoring team which raises up and coaches intercession through the Gadite Track. Their photos and bios are on the Gadite Track page.
We also benefit from a strong board of directors and national advisory team, made up of senior national apostles, prophets and ministry leaders. These give counsel, covering and accountability.
